Jasper Klapwijk

Jasper brings over twenty-five years of European oil and gas and corporate banking experience to Zechstein which gives him a broad background.

Jasper is a trained maritime engineer from Rotterdam Polytechnic after which he served as Cavalry platoon commander for the Royal Dutch Army, stationed in Germany. He received his MSc degree in Shipping, Trade & Finance from the now Cass Business School in London, UK after which he joined ING Bank. At ING Bank, he was involved in the origination and structuring of several billions worth of project and corporate finance loans in the Oil & Gas and other sectors. After nearly ten years, he then focused on strategy and organization activities and ended up at the board of the real estate development activities of ING Group.

In 2012, Jasper joined Zechstein as CFO and soon thereafter took over business development activities for the Netherlands and Germany. This has put him in front of most of the natural gas producing E&P companies.

As much as he gets energized by what he does at Zechstein, Jasper also loves to spent time with his family and at the stables. In the winter, he loves to skate and always finds time for a run and to read.
